9balls Virtual Pool

Virtual Pool 4, so realistic it will make your real life pool game better

Alinville

Q. How long have you been playing virtual pool and how did you get started?
A. Four years. Got started at torrentz.com.

Q. Do you play in real life and if so, what kind of cue do you use?
A. I've been playing real pool consistently since 6 years old and still improving. The cue I currently use is:
My Cue

Q. Who is your favorite professional cue sports player?
A. Stephen Hendry without a doubt. Got a thing for arrogant perfectionists great at what they do.

Q. What's your favorite thing about playing virtual pool?
A. I love the mental aspect of pool and VP3 reproduces that almost flawlessly: tactical play, designing run-outs, pressure, winning. I play a lot in real life and it's always good fun, even in competitions. And this simulates reality well.

Q. What are your favorite games to play in virtual pool?
A. 9-Ball in VP3. In real life I like snooker better, even if I'm mostly a pool player. But because it's badly designed here (unrealistically easy because optimal positional play is not required), I prefer 9-Ball; it's good practice.

Q. If you could change any one thing in VP3, what would it be and why?
A. I would introduce the nap effect, more pronounced on the snooker table (slower cloth) - like it is irl. It would make snooker more realistic and deny the possibility to roll everything in from any position. Today's insecure slowrollers would be forced to learn a thing or two about positioning and play snooker as it should be played. Then I'd enjoy the game and not get bored watching such silly unrealistic breaks all the time. Haters are welcome.

Q. What other hobbies do you have besides virtual pool?
A. Poker - no limit hold'em.

Q. What other computer games do you play besides virtual pool?
A. Not that many, I don't spend a lot of time playing games.

Q. What's your favorite food?
A. Sorry - strictly confidential.

Q. When's your birthday?
A. December 3.

Q. Are you married? kids?
A. No.

Q. Favorite book, TV show, movie?
A. Most useful book for me, 'Harrington on hold'em: Expert strategy for no limit tournaments'. Favorite TV show, Seinfeld. About movies, too many to mention.

Q. Who is your favorite musical group?
A. Pink Floyd without a doubt.

Q. If you could meet 3 of your fellow virtual pool players, who would they be and why?
A. Let's double that number. And in no particular order:
- GLEN-147 - to check if I'm really him or not?
- LobsterGuy - discuss pool with one of the very few here who know what they're talking about.
- Stub - to f ask around him and c all.
- Concentrator - because he's a genius.
- Romario11 - to unravel the mystery...
- Albinario - to destroy him in real pool, real snooker, real poker, real golf, real everything.

Q. Is there any other information that you'd like your fellow shooters to know about you? If so, what?
A. No.

Q. Any advise for up and coming players?
A. If you play irl a lot, VP3 is easy to master because everything is connected and makes perfect sense. If you don't, it's going to take a long time, good luck. Final advice: don't take this questionnaire - it's bs.
